Feminist Campaigning bootcamp

Join RECLAIM to build a working class feminist campaign group in ONE WEEK.

Daytime sessions on Tues 13th - Fri 16th Aug (with a late start and evening social on Thurs 15th Aug) at the Working Class Movement Library, 51 Crescent, Salford M5 4WX.

Over the course of 4 days, you will bond with a group and build the basis of a working-class gender justice campaign.

Am I eligible?

You will need to be:

  • 18-25 years old (inclusive) at the time of the bootcamp

  • Based in or around Greater Manchester and able to get to Salford independently

  • A young woman/girl (trans or cis) and/or a young non-binary person

  • From a working-class background*

Working-class means different things to different people but for us at RECLAIM being working-class is characterised by a few key factors:

  1. You're on, or grew up on, a low income with limited access to wealth.

  2. You don't have many family connections to people with well paid, professional or powerful jobs.

  3. You find it harder to 'fit in' in middle-class spaces, interests and conversations.

  4. You're proud of your background and want people to see it as a strength, not a weakness

What will we learn about?

  • Core gender justice issues that matter to local and international working class people

  • How to build a campaign, including strategy, messaging and creating a caring, feminist group culture

What are the rewards and benefits of taking part?

  • Fun, exciting and political activities mixed with social opportunities

  • Learn new organising, activist and campaigning skills

  • Food will be provided at each in-person session

What support will I receive to take part?

  • You will have access to 1-1 campaigning and wellbeing support

  • We will provide financial support for transport to and from in-person sessions
