From a working-class background*
Working-class means different things to different people but for us at RECLAIM being working-class is characterised by a few key factors:
-
You're on, or grew up on, a low income with limited access to wealth.
-
You don't have many family connections to people with well paid, professional or powerful jobs.
-
You find it harder to 'fit in' in middle-class spaces, interests and conversations.
-
You're proud of your background and want people to see it as a strength, not a weakness
What will we learn about?
-
Core gender justice issues that matter to local and international working class people
-
How to build a campaign, including strategy, messaging and creating a caring, feminist group culture
What are the rewards and benefits of taking part?
-
Fun, exciting and political activities mixed with social opportunities
-
Learn new organising, activist and campaigning skills
-
Food will be provided at each in-person session
What support will I receive to take part?
-
You will have access to 1-1 campaigning and wellbeing support
-
We will provide financial support for transport to and from in-person sessions
