about The Team
Alex joined RECLAIM as our Campaigns Manager, and leads our Power Up programme. Having occupied increasingly middle class spaces at university and as a graduate, she is driven to create social change and enable working class young people to realise their potential. She's also at RECLAIM to pursue her dedication to equal opportunities and working class representation in all areas, as well as giving her all to fight for a fairer education system and Britain. Alex is a proud Mancunian and now enjoys having her dad's music taste, as well as being keen on fashion, beauty, travelling and olives.
Youth Engagement Officer
Becca joined RECLAIM in January and has been spearheading "The Working Classroom" by delivering online sessions focusing on soft skills and wellbeing for young people. She has delivered webinars and podcasts in partnership with Student Space to explore university students' experiences whilst being working class and the intersections attached to the latter. In addition, the English Speaking Board has partnered with RECLAIM to offer oracy qualifications with Becca as a practitioner.
Passionate about justice and equality, Becca hopes that through her work with RECLAIM young people will be empowered to become advocates in their community and that their voices will always be amplified. In her spare time, you will find her going to live gigs, cooking great food and exploring beaches!
Director of Programmes
A proud Yorkshire lass (with Kiwi heritage), honorary Mancunian, and a lover of Irn-Bru. Becky has a longstanding background working to remove the barriers that lie ahead of far too many young people achieving their goals, whatever those goals may be. As someone who didn't attend University and who understands the impact that not having a degree can have in terms of career prospects, she is also a keen champion of non-graduate talent. Also, LOVES dogs, Rugby League and the Sea.
Director of Business Development
Chris is responsible for exploring new opportunities for income generation and fundraising, developing partnerships with a diverse range of likeminded stakeholders and supporting the strategic development of RECLAIM's pioneering projects and campaigns.
Outside of work, he is proud to be the Chair of national mental health charity Chasing the Stigma, as well as a Non-Executive Director of the European Healthy Stadia Network and a Governor at St Mary's Birchley Primary School. In what little free time he has left, he loves spending it with his wife and four kids, as well as running his son's junior football team, getting off the beaten track on his mountain bike and going to watch the mighty reds at Anfield - which doesn't go down well with our Manchester colleagues!
Youth Engagement Officer
I have always worked with children from a young age but became interested in youth work during my summer placement while studying at university . I joined RECLAIM in March as a youth engagement and have been loving every moment. I am running my own project about the effects COVID and lockdown has had on the youth of today. Additionally, I ran the Working Classroom sessions. In my spare time I enjoy gaming and discovering new music around the world. I am currently playing Genshin Impact and taking an interest in Thai TV shows and movies.
Campaigns and Digital Officer
Kirsten is committed to supporting RECLAIM’s young people through running our digital platforms, working on campaigns and building our networks to provide more opportunities to make space for working class representation. With a background in environmental campaigns, Kirsten understands the lack of working-class representation in environmental activism but also in campaigning as a whole. Outside of work, she enjoys starting new creative projects and is currently working on her embroidery.
A proud member of RECLAIM Project Ltd, Lima joined in 2017 and is from Manchester. As a finance officer, Lima deals with day to day finance functions including purchase invoices, bank reconciliation, management accounts and payroll. She loves to play with numbers, plants and nature.
Youth Engagement Officer
Nia is a Youth Engagement Officer with a passion for bettering young people's lives. Her history with RECLAIM runs deep, as she was also a young person on “The Manchester Youth Cohort” back in 2014. Back in 2014, Nia describes herself as 'a confused and angry young person', but RECLAIM, along with others, nurtured and guided Nia onto the right path and she is now a caring, informed, driven and independent woman who aims to support and guide as many young people as possible in creating a healthy and productive future. In her spare time, she is creative and loves to write and perform spoken word poetry about today's society and different injustices that people in the world face today.
Roger Harding is Chief Executive of RECLAIM, the Manchester-based working-class youth leadership charity. After being raised by a single mum in a council house, Roger began his career fighting for social justice at the Joseph Rowntree Foundation before becoming director of communications, policy and campaigns at Shelter. He is vice-chair of Victim Support, and a member of the Mayor of London's Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Advisory Group. In his spare time he lets Spurs prey on his optimism.
